We are looking for talented student research assistants (HiWi’s) or interns who are pursuing a Master of Science degree in a subject related to smart materials, polymers, and applied physics.
We are looking for talented students who are pursuing a Master of Science degree in applied physics, chemistry, chemical physics, or material science to join our team as student research assistants (HiWi, Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft) or interns. Having experience in polymer synthesis and characterization, or in the field of Liquid Crystal materials is a plus, but all applications will be reviewed carefully. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative project with scientists at the Haptic Intelligence and Physical Intelligence Department of Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart. Possible tasks include:
- Polymer thin film fabrication
- Materials and surface characterization
- Polymer coating
The hourly paid student assistant position or paid internship will allow the student to gain hands-on experience with smart materials, as well as be exposed to ongoing haptics and materials research. The concrete position and tasks are subject to discussion with interested candidates. Selected candidates can start working as soon as they are hired.
The project will be carried out at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS), which is located at Heisenbergstr. 3, 70569, Stuttgart, near the technical campus of the University of Stuttgart. Further information about both Haptic Intelligent department, and Physical Intelligence Department can be found at https://is.mpg.de/
