The scientist working in the Physical Intelligence Department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart will be supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for two years to continue his soft robotic research in Germany.
Dr. Aarushi Bhargava research interests lie in the area of biomedical acoustics, structural mechanics, and soft robotics. She received her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in May 2020 where she works on the dynamics of smart materials under focused ultrasound. After finishing her Ph.D., Aarushi joined the Department of Radiology at University of Chicago where she worked on using histotripsy in combination with liposomes (drug carriers) for treatment of deep vein thrombosis. In June 2022, she joined the Physical Intelligence group at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Stuttgart as a Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow.
Her research focuses on understanding the interaction of ultrasound with soft materials and cultivating the material response for desired biomedical outcome. She uses these concepts in several applications including therapy, diagnostics, micro-robotics, and wireless energy transfer.
“I have followed the exceptional research of Physical Intelligence group for a long time and I am really excited to be working with him.”- says Aarushi
